In Sandwich

On the East Coast, boardwalk has a different meaning than what I'm used to. I usually think of the Santa Cruz boardwalk with carnival type games along the beach. On the cape, it means a bridge to the beach.

This is what we were walking over. I think that it gets filled in when it's high tide.

We can finally see the beach!

Cape Cod, Pt. IV; Coast Guard Beach and P town

Coast Guard Beach

Coast Guard Beach is part of the Cape Cod National Park. Unfortunately, all of the nature trails are closed to dogs, but fortunately, the beaches are not! It was a gorgeous day to hang out on the beach.

Some have complained about a lack of pictures of myself. I have included this one to appease such concerns.

After some time on the beach, we decided to revisit P town which is where we spent our Cubbymoon nearly 2 years ago!

Cape Cod, Pt. III; Chatham

The next day we drove to Chatham (pronounced Chaddam by Cape Codders) which is located on the elbow of the Cape. The beach there is on the Atlantic as opposed to the Cape Cod bayside. It was a bit dreary since it was overcast and very windy.

We stopped by the fish dock, but were too early to see the boats come in with their nets. Also we realized it was a Sunday!


Then we drove back to Brewster to check out Nickerson State Park.

The park is huge but we were tired so then we headed home for a nap.

Cape Cod, Pt. II; Paine's Beach

Once we got settled in the Barn, we drove to Paine's Beach which was voted by Cape Codders as the best place to watch the sunset.

We arrived at low tide, so you could walk out quite far.

Our trip to Cape Cod, Pt. I

Cubby, Bun, and I drove to Cape Cod for our vacation. Cape Cod is about 4-5 hours away from New York; it is on the eastern part of Massachusetts and shaped like a curled up arm. We had been there twice before; once to Nantucket, an island just south of the main part of the Cape, and to Provincetown (aka P-town) for our Cubbymoon. It is at the very tip of the Cape. For our most recent trip, we stayed in Brewster which is mid-Cape (like the elbow-pit of the arm).


We rented this great "barn" in Brewster. The bottom part is a garage/workshop area. The living area is upstairs.

Behind the barn, there is a herring run which is basically a stream with lots of herring.
