Baby videos

Michael Hyun Dasen

Born Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 12:27am. 9lbs, 6oz and 21.5 inches long

I woke up from a nap at 8:30pm Monday night, and I thought that my water had broken. Soon after that I started having contractions. Bun took Cubby to L's house, and then Bun and I went to the hospital around 10:30pm. After the doctor examined me, he told me that the baby had flipped upside down in the past week and that I would need to have a C-section. They rolled me into the operating room, and after what felt like forever, got the epidural going. Soon Michael Hyun Dasen came out!

6 more days?

6 more days until my due date. My ankles and wrists are swollen, my back hurts, and I can't sleep. But other than that, I'm doing fine. I have a feeling Shrimbo is going to be late. I will try to take it easy and be patient (which is very hard for me) until he decides to arrive.

Two weeks to go!

Back in Riverside

We decided to take Cubby back to Riverside Park since it might be a while before we can take her up there again. Riverside Park was 1 block away from our old apartment, and Cubby loves running off-leash and chasing the ball.

The raccoons still live in the wall near the 108th St entrance.

Baby stuff

Jeremy and I practiced our diapering technique on one of Cubby's toys.

Most of the prints here I purchased through Etsy. The photo of the Gates in Central Park was a birthday present from Bun.

More Etsy prints. We haven't set up the crib with the bedding yet since Baby will sleep in a bassinet next to our bed for a while.

How do I feel?

Surprisingly okay. Now my fingers AND feet are swollen. I also wake up every 1-2 hours in the night. And in the afternoon, my back starts to hurt. I thought that I could work full days until the end, but I think that I may have to take a day/afternoon off here and there until I go into labor. Today I will get my hospital bag ready since I guess the show could start at any time. I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday so we'll see what he says.

About 3 more weeks...

I'm 36 weeks and 4 days. I find that it is getting harder to walk around (I get very tired) and I cannot sleep well at night. Here's a close up. I don't think that my belly will get much bigger- the baby will get bigger and have less room to move around.

Nursery

Here is the crib that Bun set up in about 30 minutes. He's a rock star.

This is the dresser that we got from Craigslist. Poor Bun had to carry it with a stranger from Sixth Avenue and 13th Street cuz it didn't fit in the car.

Here is a view of the entire Baby's room (this used to be Bun's office).

Here I am- the crazy print of my dress distracts from my enormous belly.

Bun is testing the crib strength in case the baby tries to escape.

I'm back!

So much has happened in the past year- some good, some bad. I'm finally ready to fire up this blog again. The biggest news is that soon it will be Me, Bun, Cubby, and Baby! Stay tuned.

Cubby's birthday and Thanksgiving

Cubby turns 6 years old!
Cubby checks out her presents.

Yeah, a frisbee!

A holey ball!

Thanksgiving 2007

This year, Bun and I had friends over; C & S (and Sparks) and K & A. Cubby was very excited.

Cubby and Sparks get reacquainted.

Sparks has enough!

How many people does it take to cut a turkey?

Begging dogs.

BFF, forever

After our meal, we divided into gender roles.

Cubby's routine

The dog runCubby is a frequent visitor of the dog run. She has many friends (mostly male puppies).
When we go to the run in the morning, she usually likes to chase a tennis ball.

The basketball courts:
I discovered the basketball courts soon after we moved. Bun likes to take her here in the evenings, and we also go on weekend mornings.

Cubby asks, "Where is the ball?"
